We believe in the power of great design. We share a passion for the sophisticated, the delightfully unexpected, and making the old new again. Our mission is to inspire and enrich our clients' lives by creating artful, timeless, and fulfilling personal spaces.
Over nearly twenty years, Kendall Wilkinson Design & Home has successfully managed hundreds of full-scale interior design projects. Our tight-knit team of thirteen is well-educated in interior design and interior architecture, furniture design, project management, communications, and finance. Our designers are trained in a variety of styles, from classical to contemporary, formal to playful, and are experts in creating authentic period looks or mixing modern pieces with older gems.
Whether we are engaged in a full-scale remodel or customizing a furniture piece for a store client, our goal is to provide a well-conceived, functional design plan that can be implemented in a time frame, budget and style consistent with the client's desires. We take pride in doing our work well and in enjoying the process.
Our core services include:
- Client consultation and market research to ensure a creative, functional,
and beautiful design plan - Selection of furniture, antiques, lighting, fixtures, finishes, fabrics, rugs,
and accessories - Creating color/fabric schemes and lighting plans
- Space planning; i.e., maximizing the layout and proper flow of space
- Custom furniture, window treatments, soft goods, and cabinetry/casework design
- Green, healthy, and locally-made design options
- Collaboration with key partners, such as architects, contractors,
and landscape designers - Budget development, refinement, and tracking
- Ordering, tracking, inspection and delivery of all furniture, furnishings,
fabrics and accessories - Coordinating schedules, installation, moving, and storage

- A broad reach - our service area includes the San Francisco Bay Area, Tahoe,
the East Coast, Hawaii, and beyond - Partnering with specialists when needed, including art consultants, professional organizers, relocation specialists and others
Kendall Wilkinson
Principal
Over the last 20 years, Kendall Wilkinson has become one of the most highly regarded and sought after residential interior designers in the West.
Chosen as a contributing designer to the prestigious San Francisco Decorator Showcase six times and the ELLE DÉCOR Showhouse in 2010, Kendall continues to earn accolades in the industry and demonstrates her ever-evolving design talents. Most recently Kendall participated in the LUXE Magazine's Maison de Luxe Showhouse in Beverly Hills, with an exclusive number of interior designers from across the country. And, the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art asked Kendall to join the Board in 2011.
She is regularly featured in leading design and lifestyle publications including California Home + Design, ELLE DECOR, Gentry, House Beautiful, InStyle, LUXE magazine, San Francisco Chronicle, San Francisco magazine, Town & Country, Traditional Home, and has been covered in over thirty design blogs.
The most recognized design industry sites have run stories on Kendall including One King's Lane, 1st Dibs, and Decorati. Williams Sonoma Home featured Kendall Wilkinson in it's “Designer Series” in September, 2010. Kendall has appeared on local and nationally syndicated television programs including, Homes Across America, High Tech Home, Sensible Chic, and HGTV.
With degrees from the University of California, San Diego and San Francisco's Academy of Art College, Kendall has been chosen as a keynote speaker at U.C.'s “Who's Who in Interior Design” conference five times, and has been the recipient of California Home + Design's “Award for Showcase House Design”, the Marin Art & Garden Center's “Outstanding Achievement Award” and Sunset magazine's “Award of Excellence”.
As a San Francisco native and daughter of an interior connoisseur, Kendall's passion for interior design started while studying abroad in Paris after leaving the movie industry. In Paris, Kendall became enamored by French architecture and antiques, and began traveling abroad extensively, importing select pieces to the United States. With a passion for tradition and an eye for hot new trends, Kendall's true expertise lies in her ability to artfully mix authenticity and modernity to match her clients' tastes. Recently, she has helped several clients create “Healthy Homes”, in addition to focusing on sustainability and green-living.
Over the years, Kendall's signature line has been showcased in successive retail stores, including Patina Atelier, Threshold by Design, and now Kendall Wilkinson Home.
Emily Uridel
Senior Designer
Emily has been an integral part of the Kendall Wilkinson Design team since early 2007. As Senior Designer, she offers a unique aesthetic perspective and strong knowledge of high-end residential design from schematics to installation. Emily holds a Bachelor's degree in Interior Architecture and Design from the Academy of Art University and a degree in Politics from the University of San Francisco. She has spent a total of three and half years in Bombay India and has cultivated a deep appreciation for the influence of history and craftsmanship in design. She not only shares Kendall's creative visions, but also her love of good white wine.
Susan Whang
Senior Designer
As an architectural designer, Susan draws from her experiences in high-end hospitality design in New York City, along with her penchant for fashion, graphics, furniture and textiles. Susan holds degrees from UC Berkeley and Parsons School of Design. She has worked on numerous projects for luxury brands in New York as well as internationally from various stages of concept to completion. Susan is most inspired by design that integrates multi- disciplinary angles, craftsmanship and art, and the ordinary and the unexpected- that which lends itself to happy accidents. While she is not designing interiors, Susan teaches yoga, nutrition and wellness- and blogs about it all.
Lauren Vlahos
Design Associate
A California native, Lauren holds a Bachelor's degree in Studio Art from UC San Diego and degree from UCLA Extension's Professional Level Program in Interior Design. She joined the Kendall Wilkinson Design team in the fall of 2011 with several years of experience in commercial, hospitality and residential design. As a Design Associate, Lauren is currently working on high-end residential projects in San Francisco and Monte Sereno. Lauren seeks to create artful, fresh, harmonious spaces which inspire. In her spare time, Lauren studies German, practices yoga, and enjoys hiking in the Marin Headlands.
Brittany Haines
Design Assistant
Brittany ventured to San Francisco from the east coast at the beginning of 2010. Brittany is a graduate of Lehigh University where she focused on Art, Architecture, and Design. During college Brittany studied Textile Design in Sydney, Australia, interned at several architecture and residential interior design firms, and worked at an antique store in Nantucket, Massachusetts. Growing up with a family of creative designers, Brittany has been surrounded by elegant, timeless, and classic spaces. She enjoys antique buying trips, the installation of design projects, and various philanthropic events.
Caitlin Flemming
Design and Marketing Assistant
Caitlin Flemming is a design maven and social media expert who joined Kendall Wilkinson to grow the design firms presence online. Caitlin works as a marketing and design assistant. Caitlin earned her degree in Marketing and International Business from University of San Francisco, and for the past four years she ran the Marketing and Social Media campaigns for Divine Caroline, a publication under the Meredith Corporation umbrella. When Caitlin isn't working, she's traveling the world and streets of San Francisco looking for the latest inspirational finds. Caitlin is also the voice behind the lifestyle blog Sacramento Street, which has been featured in various publications, including Matchbook Magazine, 7x7 Magazine and Wall Street Journal. She was also named one of San Francisco's “Design Bloggers to Watch” by the San Francisco Chronicle, and most recently had her home featured on Design*Sponge.
Chelsi Liddell
Design Assistant
Originally from Toronto, Canada, Chelsi earned a Bachelor of Design degree from the Ryerson School of Interior Design in 2007. Shortly after she immigrated to London, she immersed herself in historical architecture while practicing as a color consultant for a traditional paint manufacturer. In 2011 she moved from London to San Francisco and soon joined the Kendall Wilkinson team. She is most inspired by understated design which enriches the client experience. She enjoys lazy Sunday mornings, road trips and blogging about her inspirations.
Pearl Lopez
Design Assistant
Prior to joining the Kendall Wilkinson Design team, Pearl was an event stylist and event planner. She designed a wide range of high-profile events and conferences throughout the US, featuring celebrities, politicians and high-level corporate managements. Pearl graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree at Syracuse University and continued studies in Interior Design and Sustainable Design at UC Berkeley. She is an avid world traveler and art enthusiast who believes in infusing spaces with a chic mix of old and new. You can often find Pearl at the auction houses and vintage markets scouring for treasures.
Megan Moran
Expediting Manager
Megan fell in love with design while working for a popular national showroom and considers Florence Knoll one of her heros. She became a valuable member of the KWD team when she joined on in 2011 as an expeditor. A Bay Area native, Megan graduated from San Francisco State University with a Bachelor's Degree in photography and printmaking. With a love of food and wine, everything French, and a flair for the 60's Megan is très chic!
Fany Aranda
Executive Assistant
In addition to her friendly attitude, Fany brings over five years of executive assistant experience to Kendall Wilkinson Design. Prior to joining KWD, she worked to support other creative endeavors including architectural design and art dealing.
When she’s not working with the KWD team, Fany pursues her other passions - cooking and antiquing. She’s a fan of Latin American food, but Peruvian is her favorite cuisine. New to San Francisco, Fany quickly became familiar with the city's antique shops, and is a frequent visitor to her favorites. Fany credits her interest in creative projects to her liberal arts education at Rutgers University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree.
Kimi Nishikawa
Director of Operations
When aligned with gifted designers, Kimi's talent lies in helping those visionaries' smoothly execute business strategy, finance and operations. She brings 13 years of project and operations management to Kendall Wilkinson Design, having worked in public relations, professional services, retail and interior design industries. A California-native, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Commerce from Santa Clara University. Though not fast, she can go the distance having run the Honolulu and Portland marathons.
Jill Hetherington
Business Development and Marketing
A San Diego native, Jill ventured to the east coast for a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bucknell University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. She brings significant marketing and management expertise with over 18 years of experience in public relations, corporate marketing, product marketing, business development, and customer reference programs. Jill has worked with companies in multiple industries including software, banking, non-profits and interior design.
Kendall Wilkinson Design & Home is always on the lookout for talented design, technical, and administrative staff. Whether we are helping a customer in the retail store or working with a design client on a long-term project, our employees take pride in offering the quality service that defines us as a best-in-class firm.
