Curated through rich materials and stark contrasts.

Wine Country, CA

Nestled in the vineyards of Northern California, KWD reimagined a Spanish Colonial-style hacienda for a resilient couple. Once a beloved weekend retreat surrounded by heritage oak trees, estate vineyards, and a wildlife preserve, the hacienda fell victim to wildfires, leaving the homeowners devastated. Undeterred, they braced themselves for the arduous task of rebuilding the four-bedroom, four-and-a-half bath haven, preserving the old-world craftsmanship while infusing 21st-century upgrades.

The result is a rustic yet refined getaway, where artisanal pieces, local art, antiques, and modern furnishings balance one another to create a home that pays homage to the hacienda's heritage.
