High design, art and Mother Nature serve as muse.

Silicon Valley, CA

When a home affords picturesque views of the surrounding sky, rolling hills and a landscape painted in ochre hues and drenched in golden light, the design concept quickly becomes one that celebrates tranquility and bringing the outside in. So for one such residence in the Bay Area belonging to discerning and savvy repeat clients, KWD infused the interiors with a like-minded, peaceful palette inspired by the wonder of Mother Nature.

Once the architect reimagined the former Mediterranean architecture into a vernacular that blends old-world and modern, KWD followed suit with earthy materials and inviting furnishings. Bleached European oak flooring throughout anchors a curation of handwoven rugs, sumptuous upholstery pieces, and sculptural yet functional silhouettes mixed with vintage finds. The absence of window treatments creates a striking vista of the outdoor sculptures, allowing them to be the main event alongside the stunning scenery.
